How to use OPay on your phone dialer app – USSD code for OPay

Apart from using OPay wallet services on your Browser and mobile app, you can also enjoy its services without having an Internet connection.

Sometimes you might want to check your account balance, purchase airtime, transfer or withdraw money but your data is exhausted. At times, you might also feel tired or lazy to launch the app and navigate through it.

You can save yourself stress by using OPay’s USSD service. Dial *955# on your mobile phone and make use of OPay wallet services right from your dialer. This option is enabled by default for all registered users.

How to fund or deposit money into your OPay account

You can deposit money into your OPay account in 3 ways.

Fund your OPay account with your debit card

You can deposit funds into your OPay account through your bank debit card. This option will require you to link the card to your account.

Fund your OPay account by sending money from a banking app

Another way to fund your OPay account is by doing a money transfer from the mobile app of your bank.

Every registered user on OPay has an account number, although it’s not as functional as the ones issued by normal banks. The last 10 digits of the number you used to register your OPay account is your account number by default.

For example, if I registered my OPay account with the phone number “09012345678”, then my account number will be the last 10 digits “9012345678”.

When sending the money through a mobile app, select PayCom Bank as the bank. The money will be received in your OPay account. However, not all banks support this feature. Below are the Nigerian banks that you can use with PayCom Bank:

  • Access Bank.
  • United Bank Of Africa (UBA).
  • Heritage Bank.
  • Zenith Bank.
  • Union Bank.
  • Diamond Bank.
  • First City Monument Bank (FCMB).
  • Wema Bank.
  • GTBank.
  • Stanbic IBTC.
  • Sterling Bank.

Fund your OPay account through an OPay merchant

This third option is the best if you have cash. You won’t have to deposit the cash at a bank branch before you can fund your OPay account.

An OPay merchant is a POS agent that makes use of OPay services. Such a person is registered with OPay as an agent and not a normal user. Also, an OPay agent has a daily transaction limit that is higher than that of normal users.

To fund your OPay account through an agent, open the OPay app and tap on “nearby agents“. You will see all the OPay merchants near you and the location of their outlet.

On getting to the POS outlet, give the agent your cash and your OPay account will be credited with the same amount of funds.

How to withdraw money from your OPay account

There are 2 ways to withdraw money from your OPay account. One way is to use the OPay app to withdraw to a bank account. You will be credited in minutes.

Another way is to visit the outlet of an OPay agent. Send the money to the agent’s OPay account and you will receive your money in cash.

How to send money to other users on OPay

As long as you have a sufficient balance on your OPay account, you can send your desired amount to another OPay user.

Open the OPay app, click on the “transfer” button on your dashboard and select OPay. Input the beneficiary’s OPay number (the phone number that your beneficiary registered with) and the amount you are sending. Enter your password and the transaction is complete.

Alternatively, you can visit an OPay agent and deposit cash. You will also provide the OPay number of the beneficiary. The same amount you deposited will be sent.

How to get a loan on OPay

OKash is a sister company to OPay. OKash is registered as a Microfinance Bank with the Central Bank of Nigeria.
