How to send money on WorldRemit

Sending money on WorldRemit is not hard. The process is straightforward.

1. From your Wallet tab, select one of the currency account tiles that you want to send money from.

2. Press the “Transfer” button. 

3. Select an existing recipient or add a new one.

4. Select either your country or another country.

5. Input the amount you want to send. WorldRemit transaction fees and currency conversion rates will be shown on your device.

6. Choose how you want your recipient to receive that money. This can be a cash pick-up, crediting to their bank account or mobile money account.

There’s also a pay-out option, but it’s not available in all countries. 

7. Click on “Pay Now” to authorize your transfer.

WorldRemit will send you a confirmation email. Both you and the recipient will also get updated by SMS at intervals.

How long will it take for the money to get to the recipient?

If you’re sending it to a bank, it will take 1 to 2 working days, depending on the country where the money is being sent to.

Cash pickup and mobile money transfers will be available to collect instantly.

Home delivery will take 24 hours to 7 days, depending on your location.

How to receive money to your WorldRemit Wallet

If you have already activated your WorldRemit Wallet, the money will automatically add to your account balance and will be available for withdrawal into any bank account. 

Note:

1. You don’t have to pay any transaction fee to receive the money. The sender would have done all that. 

2. If someone sends money to you from a WorldRemit Wallet, but you haven’t yet signed up for one, you will be given 2 weeks to create an account and claim the money.

3. If the recipient doesn’t open a WorldRemit account or claim the money within 2 weeks, it will be returned and the sender will be refunded. 

How to withdraw money from WorldRemit into your bank account?

You can withdraw money from your WorldRemit wallet to a local bank account, to a mobile money account, or a cash pick-up location.

Here’s how to go about it.

1. From your wallet tab, click on the currency account tiles that you want to withdraw money from.

2. Click on Transfer. 

3. Press the “Withdraw” button.

4. On the next page, choose how you want to receive that money. It can be through a local bank account, online wallet or pick-up location. 

5. Input the amount of money that you want to withdraw.

6. Press the “Withdraw Now” button and provide your transaction PIN to authorize your withdrawal.
